This is Not Your Typical Conference...
Join us for a unique event celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Learning Tree, a community initiative formed a decade ago by a group of neighbors dedicated to recognizing and harnessing the abundance within their community for healing and joy.
Partnerships with Roots Indianapolis, Tamarack Institute, Eastside University-Kansas City, MO, Neighbors International, and Boulder First UMC underscore our commitment to fostering positive change. The Common Ground Gathering, from May 15th to 17th, is not your typical conference but a collaborative exploration of cultivating a culture of abundance.
Framed by the question: how can we create a new reality where every gift and contribution matters? We'll delve into what it means for institutions to be good neighbors, supporting the abundant gifts within our culture.
What are we willing to share, what are we willing to grieve, and who are we willing to learn from?
This inclusive event welcomes residents, professionals, institutions, and associations, operating on the belief that everyone has a gift and is a teacher.
The theme revolves around celebrating abundance, with discussions on community well-being, asset-based community development, affordable housing, useful data, and faith and community.
Join us for roving sessions in Indianapolis communities, where we will embrace a global approach to our learning sessions.
Your participation is warmly invited!
We are excited to announce the Common Ground Gathering, a 3-day gathering to exchange information, knowledge, and skills on community-centered topics. Presentations, conversations, trainings, and practices will be located throughout Indianapolis to provide participants the opportunity to see community-based work in real time and exposure to what it literally looks like, rather than a traditional conference setting. In order to practice community work in new and innovative ways, we believe that starts with how we learn. Cick here to PURCHASE TICKETS. Interested in presenting? Take-home Lessons
- Shift from "trauma-based research" to "desire-based research".
- An understanding that abundance and decolonization is as much a stance as it is a practice.
- New connections that span across local and international borders.
- Inspiration to look beyond "funding" limitations (perceived or real).
- A desire to use stories as social currencies in your communities.
